Announcement: The President’s Award for Student Public Art on Campus


This is an annual competition created by President Schwarz to encourage the display of student-made public art on campus. The president’s committee for the Public art on campus reviews the submitted proposals, and a stipend covers the cost of materials, fabrication, installation, and maintenance.


Applications Proposals are due Sunday, March 5th by midnight The committee responds to proposals by Friday, March 31st, notifying finalists. Selection of the Finalist and notification of the winning proposal will be announced by Friday, April 21, 2023. The recipient of the 2023 President’s Award for Student Public Art on Campus will be announced online and at the Annual Student Awards Ceremony at the end of the spring 2023 semester.

What: Chie Fueki, a Japanese-American painter is hosting a lecture at Purchase to talk about her work. Fueki is known for intricate paintings that combine both Eastern and Western traditions.

“Aftershock” Screening
